It’s helpful! Come check it out….

HOW CAN STUDENTS GET INVOLVED IN THEATER AT WEST?

•              Audition for a production! Auditioning is an excellent learning experience for everyone, and it helps the drama staff to get to know students better.

•              Join a crew. Everyone is welcome to join the sound, light, stage, costumes, props, makeup/hair, or administrative crews. The aud crew provides stage, sound, and light services for the many theatrical and musical (choir, orchestra, and band) performances all year long, during the school day and at night. Crew participation allows freshmen to get involved in and learn about theater early in their high school careers and is a great way to draw the attention of the drama faculty and design staff.

Check the drama board, listen to the daily announcements, and visit the websites above for up-to-the-minute details on all things theatrical. Pay attention – the information can come, go, and change quickly!

•              Stay involved with the Regent Drama Club. Even though it doesn’t meet weekly or monthly like some other groups, if you show up to work on a crew, you’re in it!

ABOUT US

Now eight years old, FWHD performs three important roles:

we raise funds to help maintain the quality of West High School’s fine theater program;

we support theatrical opportunities in many ways through our time and our talents; and

we encourage friendships and connections among parents, students, extended families, and all others interested in a strong and involved theater community.

We hope you’ll join us to make this year memorable! Your funds, talents, and time truly make a difference. FWHD has traditionally donated $10,000 each year to the program.

Ways you can help:

1)     Be a parent Volunteer on our larger projects, typically connected to each play

2)     Join the Board…we need freshman/sophomore parents!

3)     Donate financially. Send in your donation anytime

4)     Donate an auction item for Broadway West
